How it works
Apply
Complete the application — it takes about fifteen minutes and saves as you go.
Editorial review
Our team reads every application individually. Typical turnaround is two to three weeks.
Onboarding
Accepted contributors complete a short checklist and receive the contributor handbook.
Pitch
Propose an article: a central question, a thesis and the sources you intend to use.
Write and revise
Draft with editorial support. Expect at least one round of substantive revision.
Publish
Your article goes live under your name, with a public author profile readers can follow.

Questions
Do I need to be at university?
No. The programme is designed for ambitious students from around age fourteen upwards, including high school, gap year, undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Does it cost anything?
No. Applying to and writing for Metisync is free. We do not charge contributors and we do not pay contributors.
Is publication guaranteed if I am accepted?
No. Acceptance into the programme means we would like to work with you. Every article still has to meet our editorial standards before it is published.
How much do I have to write?
Guest Authors publish a single completed piece. Regular Contributors typically publish every four to eight weeks, at a pace agreed with an editor.
Can I write in Chinese?
Yes. You can indicate English, Simplified Chinese or bilingual in your application.
Do I keep the rights to my work?
You retain authorship of your work. Metisync publishes it with attribution and you may cite it anywhere.
What if I have never been published before?
That is completely fine. We care about the quality of your thinking, not your publication history. A school essay or EPQ makes a strong writing sample.
